On October 6, The Laureate Gardens in Nairobi will serve as home to Blankets & Wine, one of East Africa’s most thrilling international music festivals..
Founded in Nairobi in 2008, the festival has served as a space for the celebration of African culture through art, food, music and lifestyle in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda for nearly two decades. Featuring a mix of budding and mainstream musicians, Blankets & Wine is known to offer a variety of genres including Afropop, reggae, soul, jazz, hip-hop and electronic music.
At the start of the year, Blankets & Wine set out to host four editions—one every first Sunday of each quarter and a final one in December. The latest edition will see Kenya’s Karun, South Africa’s Nasty C and Sun El Musician, and many more take the stage.
Past headliners include AKA, Nneka, Fena, Mayonde, Samthing Soweto, Kagwe Mungai, Sauti Sol and the festival’s founder, Muthoni The Drummer Queen.
