Earlier in the year, legendary music producer, artist, and long-time adidas collaborator, Pharrell Williams enlisted London-based photographer and filmmaker, Gabriel Moses to direct a short film for the brand. The result was a visual feast titled All Day I Dream About Sports — a play on the long-rumoured acronym of the sports brand.
Shot against the backdrop of Dakar, Senegal featuring local talent, All Day I Dream About Sports captures the cultural essence of the vibrant West African city reflecting on broader themes of life, sports, and the cyclical nature of existence.
On the 13th of December at École Kourtrajmé, the city will host the homecoming screening of All Day I Dream About Sports during The Dakar Court International Film Festival. Additionally, Gabriel Moses will host an intimate workshop with 15 emerging filmmakers, sharing insights into his creative process and guidance on embracing their unique voices and identities as directors.
“This is an art film that has narrative moments. it references sport but it’s the sport of everyday life,” Moses previously stated. “It’s not necessarily about the competition but it’s the way in which we are all athletes at the end of the day. Everyone can relate to this film purely because it’s set in Africa; it’s a universal language and a universal story of moments we have all experienced. There’s a universalism that we wanted to translate within the film.”
All Day I Dream About Sports will be released globally in 2025.
