Ghanaian Afro-dancehall star Stonebwoy is today sharing the visuals for his latest single, “Memories”, featuring Bonaire’s own Ir Sais.

The Pepe Favela-directed video taps into the warm and nostalgic essence of the track, which samples the ‘90s R&B classic “Faded Pictures’ by Case & Joe. It sees both artists offering their interpretations of old-school love, focusing entirely on their love interests and capturing their favourite moments—be it in a highly professional studio or a cheeky little photobooth.

Stonebwoy couldn’t be more direct on the song, with lines like: You give me the energy, you be my life obsession/The way you move causing attention.” Around him, the supple production by Dave Nunes gives way for his signature dancehall-fusion flow to mesh seamlessly with Ir Sais’ flare.

“‘Memories’ is one of those tracks that makes you want to call over a friend or your love interest to just have a vibe,” Stonebwoy tells Rolling Stone Africa—and he tells no lie! With this new track and video, the gifted singer-songwriter inches closer to his highly-anticipated album, Up & Runnin6, due out October 24.
