ART X Live! is Back

The coveted music showcase at West Africa’s premier international art fair returns for its 9th edition.

For nearly a decade, ART X Lagos has prided itself as a vibrant community gathering place fostering rich connections between diverse artists and practitioners alike in Africa’s art, music, film, and culture landscape. Themed “Promised Lands” the fair is back with its lineup of exciting programs including The Projects, ART X Talks, ART X Cinema, The Development Forum as well as the highly-anticipated ART X Live! — a unique showcase that features collaborations between emerging artists and musicians from across Africa.

ART X Live! 2024 is set to offer an unforgettable night where the spirit of traditional Nigerian Fuji music merges seamlessly with contemporary sounds. Led by returning curators, Lanre Masha and Ayo Lawson, the event will feature fuji icon Adewale Ayuba, genre-blurring artist Cruel Santino (fka Santi), and electrifying house music DJ Aniko. Producer and artist, Odunsi (The Engine) will also be making his sophomore ART X Live appearance following his 2018 performance, this time as a creative director alongside renowned visual artist, Niyi Okeowo.

Previous editions witnessed artists like Obongjayar, DBN Gogo, Dope Caesar, Lojay, Tay Iwar, BNXN, Winny, and more taking the stage to offer  immersive performances.

The 2024 edition promises engaging curatorial projects from 10 exhibitors who will present works from an array of visual artists across the continent and diaspora from Harare, Cotonou and Lagos to London and everywhere in-between.

ART X Lagos will be returning to The Federal Palace from the 31st October – 3rd November. The event will commence with the Collectors’ Preview on October 31st, followed by the VIP Preview on November 1st, and Public Open Days on November 2nd and 3rd.
