Asake’s Wizkid-Assisted ‘Lungu Boy’ Highlight, “MMS”, Gets The Visual Treatment

It's simple, monochromatic, and suspended in time.

Nigerian singer-songwriter Asake has been an undeniable force since his mainstream debut2022’s Mr. Money With The Vibedominating the charts, radio airwaves and social media feeds every year with no dip in popularity.

Hot on the heels of his sold-out O2 Arena show in London, Asake has released the music video for “MMS”, his collaborative effort with Wizkid off of his latest album, Lungu Boy. Asake once again teams up with the renowned director Edgar Esteves, who was behind the visuals for “Wave” featuring Central Cee

This time, Esteves swaps the bustling energy of Lagos and takes proceedings to London to capture the essence of the city as a nod to Asake’s global reach and influence.

Against an industrial backdrop, Asake and Wizkid emphasise their chemistry as individuals frozen in time. It’s no secret that Wizkid is one of my music inspirations as a young, striving artist in Lagos,” Asake tweeted back at the time of Lungu Boy’s release. I’ve been waiting for that right song, so when the opportunity came, it was a no-brainer. ‘MMS’ stands for ‘Mr Money Sound’ and it explains my music journey.
