THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR for Central Cee was filled with transatlantic collabs, sold-out shows, festival appearances, and two wins at the MOBO Awards—and he’s still going.
Having recently teamed up with Ice Spice on the toxic anthem “Did It First”—before being embroiled in a somewhat acrimonious breakup that bares a striking resemblance to the song’s content—Central Cee is back with a solo joint of his own in “Gen Z Luv”.
Fans have been fired up since last week when he teased the song on his Instagram and anticipation hasn’t really dipped since. Produced by Ambezza and Peter Iskander, the track hits on the similar Jersey/drill hybrid energy as his team-up with Ice—except, this time, it’s all about young love, as well as the the trappings of fame and technology.
“Gen Z Luv” is the second single from Cench’s upcoming album, CAN’T RUSH GREATNESS; the first was “BAND4BAND” featuring Lil Baby.
The video for “Gen Z Luv” was shot by Cench himself on his iPhone. Watch below.
