The year is never really complete without that one song from Nigerian artist, Reekado Banks that gets you moving and grooving. With his latest single, “Solo”, he is looking to continue his winning streak as the opening line of the single confidently predicts, “You go put this one on replay.”
“Solo” lets us into Banks’ current stream of consciousness. The artist sings about a new phase of his life where he is focused on the bright and beautiful things that the world has to offer with no room for negativity and the extra baggage of the past. Complemented by its heavy log drum-prompted production, the track takes on an awe-inspiring and uplifting tone.
“This song is all about embracing your journey, letting go of what no longer serves you, and finding the courage to move on,” Reekado Banks says. “I want my listeners to feel empowered to pursue their own adventures and understand that true freedom comes from within.”
Banks has mostly had a busy year contributing to some exciting projects like the soundtrack of Tiwa Savage’s experimental film project, Water & Garri as well as the soundtrack of American biographical drama film, Bosco alongside the likes of . He will also be joining multi-award-winning R&B singer Eric Bellingers on his highly-anticipated album, It’ll All Make Sense Later set for release later in the month.
