Just like yesterday, Nigerian singer David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly called Davido, started his music journey with songs like “Back When” featuring Naeto C and “Dami Duro”. Today he has become one of Africa’s biggest music stars. It’s been 15 years of making good music, and the Afrobeats star is celebrating it with a historic three-night residency at the National Theatre in Lagos, Nigeria from December 17 to 19, 2026, bringing his sixth studio album, ORIADÉ, to the stage.
The five-time Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star has spent much of the past 15 years carrying Nigerian music into new spaces and audiences. Now, for three nights, he is bringing that journey back to Lagos, the city that has remained central to his story. The residency will mark the first time Davido brings ORIADÉ to life onstage in Lagos. Across the three nights, he will perform songs from the album alongside some of the records that have shaped his career, with special guests planned throughout the residency.
ORIADÉ: The residency is one of the first residencies hosted by an Afrobeats artist in Nigeria. With it, Davido is returning to the place where his journey began and celebrating the people who have watched it unfold. His rise from the release of “Dami Duro” in 2011 to becoming one of Afrobeats’ biggest global figures has been filled with remarkable growth and memorable moments. What started with a young artist making an immediate impression on Nigeria’s music scene developed into a career built around international tours, global collaborations, major festivals and records that have introduced Afrobeats to audiences far beyond Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
The residency announcement arrived alongside an official residency trailer and the release of the music video for Davido’s standout record, “On The Road”. The music video offers glimpses into Davido’s life over the past year. The footage moves through moments from his 5IVE ALIVE World Tour in Nigeria, Toronto and New York, his historic Coachella debut, the opening ceremony of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and appearances at Paris Fashion Week.
After 15 years of being on the road, Davido is coming home for an experience that is more than a concert. He will bring his album, ORIADÉ, to a live stage in Lagos. The album features collaborations with artists including Leon Thomas, Black Sherif, Aya Nakamura, Mayorkun, FOLA, Llona, NO11, JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay. With Davido’s 3-night residency, Detty December in Lagos is set. Tickets for the residency are scheduled to go on sale September 25, 2026, with presale access available ahead of the general sale.
