Music has long served as one of the world’s most powerful cultural connectors, crossing borders and breaking language barriers. Entrepreneur and philanthropist Sadin Nagro is betting that its power to bring people together is only beginning to be realised.
Nagro has committed $26 million to a new global music initiative designed to foster cultural exchange through artist collaborations, international performances and philanthropic live events. At the heart of the project is a belief that music can create meaningful connections between audiences from different regions while celebrating the sounds that define their identities.
Central to that vision are Africa and Latin America, two regions whose musical influence continues to shape global culture. While African music has become one of the world’s fastest-growing cultural exports, Latino music has similarly expanded its international reach, transforming genres like reggaeton, Latin pop and urbano into global phenomena.
For Nagro, bringing those worlds together is not simply a business opportunity; it is the foundation of the initiative itself.

The initiative plans to combine original collaborations between artists from Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe, creating projects that introduce audiences to sounds and traditions beyond what they are familiar with.
Live performance will also play a major role. Among the project’s most ambitious plans is a large-scale charity concert in the Netherlands scheduled for 2027. The event is expected to bring together major artists from different regions and genres, creating a global showcase built around both entertainment and social impact.
“Music is the most direct path between cultures that have no common language,” Nagro says. “This initiative is built on the belief that when people share a stage and a sound, the distances between them shrink. The Netherlands concert is where that belief becomes a reality that directly serves the communities hosting it.”
Rolling Stone Africa is made to know that 100 per cent of proceeds generated from the concert will be directed towards charitable foundations in the Netherlands, reinforcing the project’s commitment to giving back to local communities while promoting international cultural exchange.
The Netherlands was selected in part because of its diverse population and long-standing connections to multiple cultural communities, making it a fitting setting for an event centred on global unity through music.
While Africa remains a key pillar of the initiative, Latino music will play an equally significant role in its international strategy. The project has engaged Colombian superstar J Balvin as part of its broader vision to connect audiences through music that transcends geography and language.
J Balvin’s participation shows the initiative’s commitment to bringing together artists whose reach extends across continents. His involvement is expected to help introduce the platform to wider global audiences while strengthening cultural bridges between Africa and Latin America.
Sadin Nagro is the son of Ibrahim Nagro, founder of Rotana, one of the Arab world’s largest media and entertainment companies. Building an independent path across entrepreneurship, investment and philanthropy, he has focused on projects that combine cultural impact with social responsibility.

His $26 million commitment represents one of his most significant public investments in the music and entertainment space to date. By placing African and Latino music at the centre of his music initiative, Nagro hopes to create opportunities for artists and strengthen cultural connections.
As plans continue to develop ahead of the 2027 Netherlands charity concert, additional details regarding participating artists, charitable partners and programming are expected to be announced in the coming months.
