Uncle Waffles has been on a rocket ship of a year, smashing records, headlining festivals, and dropping chart-toppers. So, when she surprised fans with her new EP 4 Da Hoes, it felt like the perfect capstone to a whirlwind 2024. This isn’t just another project—it’s a thank-you note to the fans who’ve been riding with her through a year of groundbreaking milestones and global acclaim.
Known for her instinctive and bold moves, the Swazi-born DJ and producer leaned into her trademark spontaneity with this release. It’s a snapshot of where she’s at musically: fearless, grounded, and deeply connected to her amapiano roots.
Earlier this year, Uncle Waffles became the first amapiano DJ to headline London’s iconic Wireless Festival, performed across five continents on a world tour, and saw her hit “Wabusa” rake in over 20 million Spotify streams. Oh, and did we mention she collaborated with Joey Bada$$ and was tapped by Louis Vuitton and Vetements?
This EP is her way of saying thanks to the fans who fueled her meteoric rise, and it’s packed with the kind of dance-floor-ready heat that keeps her crowds in a frenzy.
Clocking in at three tracks, 4 Da Hoes keeps it tight and impactful. Each song brims with the heavy percussion, hypnotic chants, and smoky energy that define Uncle Waffles’ sound. “BAPHI” featuring Uncool MC, CowBoii, and Mark Khoza, this track is a Bacardi-tinged anthem dripping with swagger and punchy rhythms. “ZENZELE” is a pulsing, groove-heavy tune that practically demands a packed dancefloor. “UYAH!” is a high-octane banger that feels like an amapiano fever dream, bursting with layered beats and attitude.
This EP is arguably her most “homegrown” work yet, amplifying the earthy, underground vibe that has made amapiano a global phenomenon.
